EXPERTISE - Piling Construction

Marine Piling Construction

Our Approach

At PLC, we offer comprehensive Marine Piling solutions that include tubular piling, combi-walls, and sheetpiling. Our expertise in this field is backed by years of experience and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable, and innovative marine infrastructure.

Why Marine Piling Construction Matters

Marine piling is fundamental in creating the robust foundations required for coastal and offshore developments. It ensures:

Structural Stability:

Providing strong support for heavy loads in challenging marine conditions.

Versatility:

Enabling the construction of ports, terminals, bridges, and waterfront facilities.

Durability:

Offering long-term performance against corrosion, tides, and wave forces.

Adaptability:

Catering to a wide range of soil, water depth, and load-bearing requirements.

At PLC, we understand that piling is the backbone of marine construction, ensuring safety, resilience, and longevity.

Our Expertise in Marine Piling

We offer a full range of piling solutions to meet diverse project needs, combining technical precision with innovative engineering:

Tubular Steel Piles

Tubular Steel Piles

Large-diameter piles driven or drilled into the seabed to support heavy-duty marine structures, ensuring maximum strength and stability.

Combi Walls

Combi Walls

A combination of tubular piles and sheet piles designed for high-load applications such as quay walls and deep berthing facilities.

Sheet Piling

Sheet Piling

Steel sheet piles used to create retaining walls, cofferdams, and temporary works for marine and coastal projects.

Pile Driving & Drilling

Pile Driving & Drilling

Advanced equipment and techniques for precise installation under varying seabed conditions.

From concept to execution, we provide turnkey seawater intake and outfall solutions that balance operational efficiency, environmental protection, and long-term performance.

Our Expertise in Marine PilinG

Through Building Information Modeling (BIM), we bring precision and efficiency to complex marine piling operations. By integrating geotechnical, structural, and marine data into detailed 3D models, our teams can plan, simulate, and visualize every stage of piling—from layout and equipment positioning to installation sequencing. This digital approach minimizes risks, improves coordination between onshore and offshore teams, and ensures each pile is driven with accuracy, stability, and long-term performance in mind.

Sustainability at the core

PLC is committed to minimizing environmental impact. Our approach emphasizes

Using eco-friendly materials wherever possible

Designing with marine biodiversity in mind.

Implementing construction practices that respect local ecosystems.

We work closely with environmental agencies and stakeholders to deliver projects that balance coastal protection and ecological preservation.

Our Work

Project Show Case

BURJ AL ARAB – TUBULAR PILING
DUBAI, U.A.E.
The general scope of work included the supply and installation of Steel Tubular Piles required for the new ultra-luxury beach platform extension to the Burj Al Arab 7 Star Hotel. Works included a total of 90 piles, diameter 914.1 mm/19mm Thick, Steel Grade X65/S355, approx. 547 tons, estimated length of 22 meters, procurement, delivery, fabrication, coating, driving and PDA testing of the Piles and installation of the Pile Caps. One non-working trial pile was driven to reconfirm seabed conditions, conduct static load tests and establish baseline measures for noise and vibration. Embedded pile lengths vary from 12-13m, and coating thickness is 500 microns DFT. Piling works were carried out fully inhouse using PLC barges, crane and impact hammer.
KALBA FISHING PORT – SHEET PILING
SHARJAH, U.A.E.
The overall Project was to extend the shoreline of the Kalba Fish Market by 40m further into the sea. A Sheet Pile quay wall was designed and constructed by PLC with an anchor wall and tie-back system
RAS GHOMEIS BRIDGE – BORED PILING
ABU DHABI, U.A.E.
The Project involved the design and build of 2,650 m of the causeway that includes a 520 m multi-span precast bridge between Ras Ghomeis and Gaga islands in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. PLC Scope was Design & Construction Management of the causeway and offshore bored piling for bridge supports.
